High Finance

Last week Michelle came to our class to teach us:
about how to get money and save money,
that it’s better to use a bank than a money box,
about saving and keeping money,
she taught us their motto “spend some on you and save some too”,
how we can earn money ,
that if you keep money in a money box you won’t get any interest,
when we save our money in the bank we get interest,
that credit cards are the bank’s money and eftpos cards are our money,
if you spend all your money you will never be able to save up for the thing you want,
that if you are saving up all of your money you will get a cool and awesome and expensive car that is your pick,
that label clothes are more expensive so we could buy cheaper clothes,
save money by not going cruising on Friday nights,
helping your neighbour clean up is a way to earn money,
about when you spend the bank’s money you have to pay them back and pay them interest.
to buy things second-hand, because it’s cheaper - Op shopping  and garage sales,
earn money by doing jobs for your mum or dad,
you can spend some and save some,
to stick with your eftpos card instead of your credit card.
buy a modern medium sized car because if you buy an expensive car it’ll run out of petrol quickly and the petrol will cost a lot of money.

Hoiho Gardening

Some extracts from our thoughts about preparing our garden:
This morning had to be the stinkiest and yuckiest ever! As soon as Mrs Bryant said "We're going gardening!" we all cheered - we love gardening! But we had no idea what was in for us. Our job was to get the rubbish out of the compost and put it in the bag. Josh
Guess what atrocious thing we did today? Clean out the rubbish in the garden! Jacob
The good thing is that I had fun doing it all especially getting the rubbish out of the garden because seeing their faces scrunch up because of the smell made me laugh, especially Jacob's face even though he was picking up the smallest bits. Lawson
